The Central Park Five, a new film from award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns, tells the story of the five black and Latino teenagers from Harlem who were wrongly convicted of raping a white woman in New York City’s Central Park in 1989. The film chronicles The Central Park Jogger case, for the first time from the perspective of these five teenagers whose lives were upended by this miscarriage of justice.
Reality TV personality Tami Roman stopped by The Wendy Williams Show this morning to talk about how negativity of VH1’s Basketball Wives. During the interview, Williams was harsh in her assessment of Basketball Wives and Roman’s role on the show.“We’re all in our 40s, we’re grown women,” William’s said. “I was really embarrassed for being a black woman, seeing your guys go at it on the show. “
The viral video campaign that put the name “Joseph Kony” atop Google searches and Twitter trends has stirred up frustration in Uganda, where the crimes of the infamous guerrilla leader are nothing new.
“The war is much more complex than just one man called Joseph Kony,” Ugandan journalist Rosebell Kagumire argues in the YouTube video above, saying the campaign gives a dated picture of Uganda.
