Wolf Blitzer: ‘Donald, you’re beginning to sound a little ridiculous’

Donald Trump, de facto leader of the so-called “birther” movement, called into “The Situation Room” on Tuesday for what quickly became a testy interview with Wolf Blitzer about Trump’s continued skepticism over the authenticity of President Obama’s Hawaiian birth certificate.

Trump, in Las Vegas to host a fundraiser for Mitt Romney on Tuesday, took issue with Blitzer’s introduction and a CNN report that ran before the interview, both of which asserted that Trump, real estate mogul and reality show star, is standing by his birther comments. Trump claimed he agreed to the “Situation Room” interview to talk about jobs, China and OPEC; Blitzer said there were no such ground rules. (more…)

Great Riddance: Trump Tells US What We Already Knew, He’s Not Running for President

Good Riddance, Not That We Believed You Were Seriously Running Anyway

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – It seems like Donald Trump won’t be adding presidential candidate to his list of achievements after all. After months of flirting with running for office, Trump said Monday he won’t run for president, choosing to stick with hosting “The Celebrity Apprentice” over a bid for the Republican nomination.

Trump’s office released an official statement outlining The Donald’s reasons for bowing out of the 2012 presidential race . The news came as a surprise to some, especially considering the ground Trump was gaining among 2012 Republican hopefuls.

In the past few months, he delivered speeches to national GOP groups and traveled to early primary states like New Hampshire and Nevada. During that time, he reignited the so-called “birther” controversy by perpetuating falsehoods about Obama’s birth place, insisting that questions were unanswered about whether the president was born in Hawaii. Donald Trump’s history of racial bigotry before Obama

This Tuesday marks 22 years since a young, white woman jogging in Central Park was brutally raped, beaten and left for dead on a secluded path along the Loch in the northern part of the park. She has since made a miraculous recovery, but the five teenagers who were wrongly convicted in her attack are still awaiting justice.
central park case
It is time for that painful and unnecessary wait to end.

In April 1989, the woman came to be known as the Central Park Jogger, and her attack was a defining moment for New York City, seeming to confirm the worst fears of residents and igniting a tabloid media frenzy. (more…)

TV ONE touts reality show The Ultimate Merger for Black Professionals

Is the The Ultimate Merger reality show another attempt at black coonery?
It’s men vying for Omarosa’s attention oh “yes Omarosa the most well-known “Apprentice” alum.
The Ultimate Merger” include R&B singer and producer Al B. Sure, Ray Lavender, another R&B singer whose latest song is called “Text Me a Pic,” and Arizona Cardinals linebacker Isaac Keys. The show, which premieres Thursday (6/16/2010) at 9pm, gives viewers a taste of the drama to come. Some have to wonder if these singers are just looking for exposure for upcoming projects.
Some say its the opposite of flavor of love and claim the show as perhaps the first dating show centered on the “black professional class.” But the show’s embarrasses just by its racial undertones. For example, when the men arrive at the Trump hotel in Las Vegas where the show is set, a white representative extols the hotel’s beauty, and then presents the men with the chief of security, saying: “He’s going to ensure personally that all of you act like gentlemen.” Caramanica calls the scene “ludicrous,” and it’s definitely a strange thing for a hotel employee to say to a group of adult (and in some cases, middle-aged) professional men, some of whom are fathers.

No spinoff of “The Apprentice” would be complete without a catch phrase uttered by the boss when a contestant has to leave the show. Where “The Apprentice” had “You’re fired,” Omarosa’s signature kiss-off is (more…)
